Bud took a beating on social media in 2011. Bud Light was the least loved beer on social media in 2011, with 36% of opinions expressing distaste for the beer. Its brother beer Budweiser didn’t fare much better: 32% of opinions on the beer were negative in 2011.
The American brand was far behind its Irish rival Guinness which was the most loved beer on social media in 2011, with 82% of opinions raising their glasses to the black beer. Beers in general were in good favor with social media users.
77% of opinions on major beer brands over 2011 were positive, with social media users favoring strong, dark beers over light beers. The negative rankings were littered with lights, lites and light-colored bottled beers, while Yuengling and Pabst joined Guinness in the most loved rankings.
